The Minister of Labor, Industrial Relations and Employment Jone Usamate has confirmed that Fiji will move to daylight saving time on October 21st.
The decision by Cabinet meant the nation would switch clocks forward by an hour from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m., said Mr. Usamate. He also encouraged Fijians as well as visitors to take advantage of daylight saving time.
Mr. Usamate added that, in terms of personal and family time, daylight saving time allows families and individuals to spend more time in daylight.
Fiji will return to standard time at 3 a.m. on 20th January 2012. On that moment the clocks will be moved one hour backwards from 3 a.m. to 2 a.m.
