Uyuni Salt Flats, Bolivia.
Bolivia was supposed to move to daylight saving time on September 1st. However, on the eve of August 31st the government canceled the switch because of opposition from scientists, schools and because of the general resistance.
The original plan was the whole nation to advance its clocks for one hour for the summer months from September to March. Daylight saving has never before been in practice in Bolivia which can explain the opposition.
Bolivia has experienced electricity cuts monthly throughout 2011 and one of the reasons for the planned adaption of daylight saving time was to save energy.
