Minsk, the capital of Belarus.
The government of Belarus has decided to follow the Russian example to use summer time as a new standard time.
The decision for the new arrangement was not directly caused by the Russian decision, even though it had its implications.
During daylight saving time the time difference between Minsk, the capital of Belarus, and Moscow is one hour. During standard time the time difference would be two hours if Belarus would not implement daylight saving time as the country's new standard time.
Partly because of the economic and cultural connection between the countries and for other reasons not mentioned, the government of Belarus decided that Belarus will not change to winter time on Sunday 30th October 2011, but to stay on summer time.
