On October 24, 2012, the Ensour government decided to use daylight saving time all year round. In fall 2013 the Government decided to continue with the experiment at least one more year. However, the public opinion was not in line with the government's.

In the beginning of the December the Jordan Nurses and Midwives Association (JNMA) and the Jordan Teachers Association (JTA) issued separate statements asking the government to consider switching back to standard time.

The government took a decision on Wednesday Dec 11, 2013 to switch to standard time in response to calls by the public and civil society organizations.

The nation will change their clocks back to winter time at midnight between Thursday, Dec 19, 2013 and Friday, Dec 20, 2013.

The standard time zone in Jordan is UTC+2 and the daylight saving time zone is UTC+3.
